Triple-wavelength filter based on the nanoplasmonic metal-insulator-metal waveguides

In this paper, we present a proposal for compact photonic wavelength filtering and 3-dB splitting device based on nanoplasmonic metal-insulator-metal structure. The operating performance of the has been accurately simulated using temporal coupled-mode theory. We use numerical simulation method eigenmode expansion propagation in overall design process. show that transmission efficiency drop filter can be significantly enhanced by applying specific optimization nanotube waveguide. proposed structure potential applications highly efficient, ultra-compact integrated circuits as well optical communication systems at nanoscale size.
